What should I do before the first day of school?
There are several key things you can do to prepare for the first day of school.
Who will receive materials?
K-8 OLS Students: Expect to receive materials approximately 2-3 weeks before the start of school.
Online HS Students: Expect to receive some supplies based on courses.
PEAK K5 Students: Expect to receive materials approximately 2-3 weeks before the start of school.
PEAK 6-12 Students: Should not expect to receive materials.
When will my materials arrive?
Returning Students: Course materials start shipping 2 to 4 weeks prior to the start of school.
New Enrollments: If your student’s enrollment is approved within 2 to 3 weeks of the start of school, course materials to arrive within 7 to 10 business days.
You do not need to wait for materials! Start by logging into the Online School (OLS), create an account for your student, and check your K-Mail for information from your instructor and school. If you enrolled after the first day of school, it is very important that you get started right away.
How can I find out what platform my students will be using to access their courses?

How do I contact my instructor(s)?
Your instructor(s) will reach out to you via school email for OLS and Online MS/HS students and via the supplied email for PEAK Classroom students in the first weeks of school and provide contact information and class sessions. It is important to check your school email regularly.
Who do I contact with questions about my materials?
I tried setting up my OLS account, but I don’t have a registration ID, what can I do?
When you were approved for enrollment, you should have received an email from [email protected] that contains a registration ID and instructions on how to set up your account. If you did not receive an email or need support, please call K12 Customer Care at 866-512-2273.
What is my username and password? When do I receive it and how is it different from my student?
PEAK Platform: Once approved and courses have been assigned you will receive an email with your username and password.
Online School (OLS)/Online MS/HS) – Once registration is approved you will receive an email with your registration ID. Simply go to https://login-learn.k12.com/#login to setup the learning coach and student account.
*A student account must be created for all students. Learning coaches and parents have a different username and password than their student.
My username doesn't work, now what?
Please contact your school or mentor.
My courses don't show up or I don't have access to my courses, what do I do?
Your instructor your first point of contact. He/she is also a great source of support so don't hesitate to reach out to them.
How many hours do I need to plan to spend on my courses? What happens if I miss a day?
Plan on spending 4-6 hours a day in lessons depending on the student. If you do miss a day please contact your teacher or mentor and let them know. They will help you in next steps.
In the K–8 environment, the parent acts as a Learning Coach who facilitates progress through daily lessons. Weekly lesson plans are provided, which update automatically as the child progresses.
In the high school program, the parent still plays an important supportive role to help the student stay on task and ensure follow-through on his or her assignments.
How do I know who my mentor is?
If you are on the PEAK platform your mentor will show up in your peak account. Your teacher is also a great source of support so don't hesitate to reach out to them.
Are there activities that my student can participate in?
Yes, there are a variety of clubs, virtual field trips, and instructors host office hours. Please visit the Engage Calendar for events as well as ask your instructor.
